The First Born

Milk was Nut and Nat’s first child. They are my cousin. When Nat pregnant, the couple immediately began to prepare for the baby. They went shopping for baby furniture and bought toys and playthings. Nat made little clothes and blankets. And when baby Milk came finally into the world, the happy parents felt in love with their precious child. They took pictures of Milk’s first smile, step, and birthday party. At bedtime, they sat and hold her and told her little stories and read her book and sang her lullabies. They woke up in an instant if they hear her cry during the night. They wrote letters and send cards to my mother and relatives detailing every little thing Milk did. In fact, her parents gave Milk their complete attention. That is, until her sister, Cake, was born two years later.
